Hi, I'm Avery Julander. I am a highly dedicated junior competitor. I have consistently demonstrated the discipline, precision, and work ethic required for success at the national level. I have had a lot of progression from Pony Finals in 2022 to the 3'3 junior hunters in 2025, placing 11th overall out of 70 riders. I demonstrated a strong commitment to challenging myself against the nation's top youth athletes. I am also involved in IEA; not only do I participate, but I am also the team's captain. One important factor in my growth is the ability to accept feedback and to apply it to my riding. One important personality characteristic that I hold is the ability to be teachable and coachable.

 

A few highlights within the equestrian career thus far include; 

-USHJA National Derby Non-Pro Placing 2nd with scores of 80.75 in the classic round and an 81.00 in the handy, with a total of 161.75

-Kentucky Horse Park for Junior Hunter Finals East Coast-Large 3,3" 15 & U, and was 11th overall out of 70 riders

- With combined scores of 96.62 in the classic round, with a place of 17th out of 70 riders

-Under saddle with a combined score of 49.636

-Handy score of 96.096 with a place of 15th out of 70 riders, with a total of 242.352.

In addition to demonstrating a strong commitment to horses. I have also been involved in several theater productions, served in the orchestra for seven years, and participated in the choir for two years.

In middle school, I was the main character in two different theater productions, including Fairy Godmother in the play "Chasing Charming" and Elsa in "Frozen The Jr. Musical". I have been in the orchestra since 5th grade and found that important lessons learned through orchestra are easily translated to horseback riding: posture, timing and rhythm, coordination, and teamwork.
